Privacy Policy

BeanHub Shelf is a concept app built by Harfred Labs as a private pitch — it is not operated by, or affiliated with, BeanHub. This policy explains what the app does with your information. If anything here is unclear, ask us at harfredlabs@gmail.com.
The short version
There is no account and no sign-in. Your bag lives on your device, not on our servers. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
What stays on your device
Your bag (the coffees you've added, with size and quantity) and your settings (view mode, motion, graphics quality) are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes them. We cannot read this data — it never reaches our servers — and we cannot recover it for you if you lose the device.
What we collect
We collect the minimum needed to run the app:
- Technical information sent by your device when the app contacts our server to fetch the coffee catalogue or a product image — IP address, device and operating-system type, and the time of the request. We use this to serve the app, diagnose faults and prevent abuse, never to identify you personally.
- Anything you send us directly, such as the contents of a support email. We keep it only as long as it takes to help you.
Features that touch a server
- The coffee catalogue. The app fetches BeanHub's public product data and images — coffees, roasters, prices — from beanhub.com.au through our server, which also proxies product photos so the 3D wall can use them. No personal data is sent with this request.
- "See it in your room" (AR). On iOS, the AR model is built on your device and never leaves it (Apple Quick Look). On Android, the model is uploaded to our server so Google's Scene Viewer can open it — it is stored under a random key, is not linked to you, and is deleted automatically after one hour. The camera feed itself is handled entirely by Apple's or Google's own AR viewer; we never see it.
- Checkout. BeanHub Shelf never processes a payment. "Check out on BeanHub" opens BeanHub's own product pages in your browser, where BeanHub's own checkout — and BeanHub's own privacy practices — take over.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run BeanHub Shelf, and they process data only on our instructions:
- Google Cloud — hosting, the catalogue sync and the temporary AR file store.
- Apple and Google — app distribution (TestFlight and Play internal testing only; this app is not publicly listed).
Children
BeanHub Shelf is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
How long we keep things
Data on your device lasts until you delete it or remove the app. The temporary Android AR file is deleted automatically after one hour. Server logs are kept briefly for security and diagnostics, then discarded.
Your rights
Since there is no account and almost nothing about you is held on our servers, the practical right is the one you already have: delete the app and the local data goes with it. For anything else — including a support email you sent us — write to harfredlabs@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data sent between the app and our server travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, so we do not claim otherwise — but we keep the amount of information we hold small, which is the most effective protection available.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
